Everything is a profit loss statement

Life is basically a characteristic that distinguishes entities that have biological processes from those that do not and all life forms have one essential purpose i.e. SURVIVAL. The reason to live through each day in life is more important than transferring genes from one generation to another.

If we see life on a day to day scale, everything we do from waking up in the morning to sleeping at night can be measured on a daily profit loss scale. If you wake up on your desired time in the morning or successfully completed a task it’s a profit for you and if not can be counted in loss. This is a basic profit loss statement that might not matter much to an individual.

Now considering personal relations; every desire/demand/requirement can be listed on a profit loss scale of your life irrespective of how close your relation with another person is. From the day you are born each and every life decision of yours be it a minor or major decision falls in the category of either Profit or Loss.

Your decisions during your childhood of choosing your character qualities that you would stick to for the majority of life can also be calculated for profit and loss. Your decision of sitting with a random person in the class, decision of travelling through bus rather than a taxi, decision of accelerating the car to 150 without any reason, decision of eating a delicacy, interaction with your long lost friend, decision of isolating yourself just to know more about you can be measured on the scale of profit loss.

Case - Lets consider a situation where you are meant to make a choice between hanging out with a group of friends or sitting in your apartment and having a good time with yourself. Now most of you will prefer to hang-out with friends and find it profitable rather than sitting by yourself in the apartment. But let’s say you didn’t reach the level of enjoyment that you expected due to some considerable factors, this will automatically put you on the loss side of the scale. You might re-calculate your decision of going out and imagine the end result countless times to get a profitable result. This proves that your desire to do something won’t result in profit every time; sometimes you will need to accept that you are on the loss side of the scale.

Situations in life can provide you a result in either profit or loss. But still if you are not satisfied with the result, you might disintegrate the whole scenario and put it individually on a profit loss scale to find the detailed result just to provide a sense of satisfaction to yourself. The main question is how would you want to scale situations/interactions/conversations of your life on a profit loss scale?

I personally have measured each second of my life on a scale of profit & loss and tried to figure out the result. Yes its time consuming and kind of overwhelming but this is a valid perspective. Now you reading this whole thing might be profitable only if you could understand my thought process but if not then will be a loss of 6 min of your life which concludes that everything is a profit loss statement.
